OARS + ALPS Launch on Amazon and leads to successful brand acquisition

Challenge: Oars + Alps was in need of consultation and support of launching their product portfolio on Amazon. O+A is a natural, premium men's skin care line with an outdoorsy edge but had very little brand awareness. The brand needed to ensure it was standing out in a highly competitive luxury beauty category. Solution: Even a brand that's primarily focused on Direct to Consumer (DTC) can benefit from a more balanced, digital commerce strategy. We began with evaluating internal capabilities of the organization and determined the right fulfillment model and where O+A needed to most support. We conducted a price & margin analysis for negotiated Amazon wholesale costs and forecasted demand and inventory needs to ensure the brand could keep up with projected demand. We then designed and executed a launch plan that included best-in-class content, SEO, AMS and promotions to ensure product visibility through paid and organic opportunities. We were able to secure O+A as part of the initial best test for In-App Video Ads. Results: The success of this strategy ultimately helped Oars + Alps gain significant shelf space at Target, a major retailer favored by this specific shopper and Ulta. During the initial phase of our engagement, Oars + Alps enjoyed a sustained growth rate of 30-50% MoM. Today, the brand is a leader in the luxury beauty category, with a 4+ star rating on Amazon, and most recently has been acquired by SC Johnson.
